The Quirky Kid Resources are beautifully produced materials that have great value for social and emotional learning.

School counsellors and child psychologists will find ‘The Likes of Youth’ particularly useful in working with adolescent boys. The pictures in all the products are very appealing to a wide age group.

I especially love ‘Tell me a Story’ as it provides great ideas for Circle Time Solutions activities for pairs and small groups and can be used in many ways – such as goal-setting, resilience, friendship and self-awareness.

All these resources  open the door to reflection and creativity on  many important issues for children and young people and are well worth having.

I can report it works very well with my two children of 5 and 8 – I use it to ask how they are feeling. I ask them to point to the picture on the freeze/poster, etc. and then we discuss how they see the mood/emotion within the face and how it relates to them at this time. It allows for greater self expression … and will hopefully allow me understand them better.

The quality of the Quirky Kids Resources is outstanding!

We have been using them in children’s groups as well as for individual sessions with children and families and the cards continue to be beautiful, show little wear and be solid – this is very important when you are on a tight budget.

Most of the children we see in group have family members with mental illness or addictions and the kids often find expressing themselves hard. The ‘Face It’, ‘Tell Me a Story’ and ‘The Just Like When’ cards have all been part of the work we are doing.

The kids in the groups are aged between 7–12 year olds and they like the cards, they find them attractive and the images are subtle which I feel contributes to the enjoyment they find in them.

We have used the ‘Face It’  cards in the kids groups and both genders have a good response as the cards allow many emotional interpretations about what each child sees leading to discussions on emotional interpretations and the importance of not assuming but asking.

We have also used the ‘Face It’ cards for charades and they are wonderful for discussing facial expressions and feelings and the many ways both can be interpreted.

In the ‘Tell Me a Story’ cards I have found that kids learn from each other that they are not alone, that all kids have good and bad days, moods, successes and challenges.

The uniqueness of the cards is in the wonderful illustrations, the simplicity of the cards, yet the many ways kids and adults can engage with them, and once again the quality.

I now have a peer who is very excited to be using them with the elderly and another who will be using the ‘Just Like When’ and ‘Face It’ cards with children who have witnessed violence.

I have also just had discussions with  social workers about using them with foster children and having them available as tools for foster parents to help kids talk about their feelings.

The products that have themes for discussion particularly in the ‘Tell Me a Story’ and ‘The Likes of Youth’ are very thoughtful.

Good tools are essential in my clinical work and these are great as they are  child friendly and also therapeutic which I think can be a unique and hard to find combo.

Thanks so much – just received the ‘Just Like When’ card set. Beautifully presented and illustrated, with a lovely feel to the cards. I will enjoy using them in therapy.

I’ve just opened the exquisitely packed resource cards and am  blown away by just how brilliant they are: beautiful, unique and touching so many real situations … like nothing I’ve seen.

I just had to write to say thanks! I’m excited about how we can use them in our Wellbeing classes, working with small groups and with individual kids. Thanks also for getting them to me so quickly.

I love using cards as a therapeutic tool, conversation starter and alternative means to access narratives about children’s lives and experiences. Love using your cards, and I have just purchased a series of the ‘Just Like When’ cards which are stunningly beautiful and aesthetically engaging.
