Are you ready for National Water Week?
National Water Week is just a few months away! This year the annual water awareness week takes place on 16 – 22 October. The 2011 National Water Week theme ‘Healthy Catchments, Healthy Communities’ aims to educate communities about the importance of taking care of our catchments.
There are many ways you can support National Water Week:
Ambassador program
Water professionals are volunteering to visit your school to engage and inspire your students about catchment health.
Find ambassadors in your area on www.nationalwaterweek.org.au.
If there’s not an ambassador in your area, please email info@nationalwaterweek.org.au
Benefits of a visit from a water ambassador include:
• A chance for students to learn about local catchments from a water expert.
• An opportunity to participate in water activities linked to the Australian Curriculum.
• A way for students to ask water questions to their local water managers.
Advertise your events
Use the week to raise awareness of local water issues and get involved in National Water Week by hosting activities or events in your area. Register your event at www.nationalwaterweek.org.au
