SCHOLARSHIPS BLOG: QASR CONFERENCE AND DEVELOPMENTS

It’s been a little while since the last Scholarships blog so it’s probably a good time to provide an update on some of the changes, developments and issues around the scholarships programs.

QASR Conference – Coolum

A great conference organised by the Queensland Association of School Registrars held at the Hyatt Regency on 24-26 August. I was privileged to be able to present on Social Media and Schools, to listen to a presentations on a wide range of topics – giving a great overview on the range of rolls and skills of a registrar, and to be able to meet with registrars from Queensland, NSW, Victoria and South Australia. It was a great few days and my thanks go to all who organised the event.

If you are interested in the presentation, leave a request in the comments section of this blog and we will forward a copy to you.

IPad Application

The ACER Scholarship iPad applications for sample materials are now available from iTunes for purchase. This exciting development means that candidates now have a new means to access the styles and types of materials in the scholarship tests. All participating schools are listed in the app with direct links to websites so that online registration for candidates is now even easier. We hope this new development provides greater ease and accessibility for candidates and schools.
All apps are for iPad and are available from iTunes – search for ‘scholarships’.

CSTP Date Change

By now most schools will be aware of the date changes for CSTP for 2012 and the implications for schools, parents and candidates. Many thanks to all who attended briefing sessions in state capitals throughout July – the feedback was very helpful for the team in planning a smooth transition.
If you have questions regarding the change of dates please feel free to leave a comment and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Cheers

    • Hi David – thanks for a great presentation at the QASR Conference. It certainly gives schools lots to think about for future planning of social media in schools!
